Helichrysum italicum is a flowering plant of the daisy family Asteraceae syn. Compositae. The word Helichrysum comes from the Greek word helios meaning sun and chrysos meaning gold.
Some of the first knowing uses of helichrysum italicum comes from the time of ancient Greeks. It was known for its great wound healing ability, often used after battles which were frequent in those times. Helichrysum italicum plant is only known source of certain di-ketones which support wound healing and scar reduction.
