Fake essential oils

Recently, we have witnessed that people increasingly recognize the healing properties of essential oils, whether they are used in aromatherapy, teas, various skin care preparations, natural repellent, scents, oral or some other forms of application. Since essential oils are becoming more and more popular lately, so there has been an increase in counterfeiting. Because of a lack of industry standards and a lack of regulation on terms such as “natural” or “pure”, much of what you find at the drug store and on the internet shops is NOT a therapeutic grade of essential oil and may lack real quality or even contain contaminants or adulterants (much more common than you’d think). Fake oils are very bad for both users and manufacturers, because when someone not so skilled purchases fake oil instead of having the benefits of such a product, he can get even counter effect which is very bad for both the buyer and the farmers. So very true. The other vital component-especially to someone using the Helichrysum oil in their products for sale- is the FRESHNESS of the oil at the time of purchase. Imagine that an undated bottle of EO on a store shelf could have been harvested 2-3 years prior. Then once that oil is incorporated into a new product the efficacy & “shelf-life” of the entire batch is undermined. This is a BIG deal to someone like me that is creating a wound healing substance. It is VITAL that the ingredients are fresh & at the peak of their ‘plant-power’. I like & appreciate that your batches are dated & analysed. *when is harvest time usually?

    novidan · 30/01/2018 at 13:42

Agree on your post Mara. Although helichrysum italicum oil have long shelf life ( 4-6 years ), it is very important that it is properly labeled and stored and that production time is always known, because essential oils are volatile, they have the potential to oxidize.

The harvest is usually at the end of the 6. and early 7. month, depending on the climate of that year.

Can one take your oil iternally?

    novidan · 01/07/2018 at 16:12

Several ways to take oils internally, cook with the oils, beverages, or put them in a veggie capsule to swallow. Our oil is pure and organic and as that it is safe to use internally, best diluted since it is pure and strong ( plant essence)…
